This is part of its efforts to popularize science to the general public and students who are pursuing science as their career. TNSF attempt to focus on students on higher science as everyone knows that learning of science at college within the curriculum is not enough to acquire holistic knowledge of science at the appropriate time. Hence, to fill the gap between what students are acquiring through the curriculum and what it is required, TNSF is planning its activities on higher science to students who are pursuing higher education.
2021 Chemistry laurates and their discoveries Building molecules is a difficult art. Benjamin List and David MacMillan are awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2021 for their development of a precise new tool for molecular construction: organocatalysis. This has had a great impact on pharmaceutical research, and has made chemistry greener.

Q & A
Dr. R Vijaya Anand is Dean of Research & Development in IISER Mohali and Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Mohali. He completed his post-graduate degree in M Sc Applied Chemistry from Anna University. He has done his doctoral degree at IIT, Kanpur. Currently his research group is focusing in the following research areas: (i) Asymmetric transformations using chiral N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) and Bis(amino)cyclopropenylidenes (BACs), (ii) 1,6-Conjugate addition reactions of para-quinone methides (p-QMs), (iii) Synthesis of natural and unnatural biologically active complex molecules
